Captains Face No. 10 Ohio Wesleyan & Capital in the adidas® Invitational This Weekend

DELAWARE, Ohio -- This weekend, the Captains' men's soccer team will face a stiff test as they head out on the road for the adidas® Invitational hosted by perennial national power, Ohio Wesleyan University. On Friday night, CNU will take on the hosts, ranked No. 10 in the nation by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA), at 7:30 pm, with live stats and live video available.

On Saturday, CNU will take on Capital University on a neutral field in their second game of the weekend, at 5:00 pm. The Captains have opened the year 1-1 with a split of their season-opening tournament last weekend at home, and will start five games away from home this weekend in Ohio.

Junior forward Jalon Brown has led the way for the CNU offense, with five points in the opening weekend. He scored twice against Randolph-Macon College and added an assist against Virginia Wesleyan College. Sophomore Ryan Balfour and junior defender Tommy O'Neal each added goals for the Captains.

The Battling Bishops opened the year with a convincing 2-0 start in the Fred Myers Invitational, defeating Calvin, 2-1, and Kean, 6-0. With the hot start, OWU has moved up to 10th in the national rankings, led by sophomore Brian Schaefer. The Chatham, N.J. native has notched five points with two goals and an assist, while Evan Lee has added four points on one goal and two assists. Ohio Wesleyan was the 2011 national champions and has more NCAA Tournament appearances than any program in the nation, with 35.

Capital comes into this weekend's tournament with just one game under its belt, dropping Wittenberg in a 2-1 opener. Luke Bobst led the way, scoring the game-winning goal and adding an assist on the game's first tally. Alan Yost is in his first year as head coach for the Crusaders after serving as interim head coach last year.
