The rankings set up a big regional showdown at Captains Field on Wednesday, with kickoff set for 7 pm.
CNU (8-2-2) and Salisbury (7-3-2) have played one of the longest and most competitive rivalries in Captains program history, with the Sea Gulls holding a slight 15-12-1 advantage in the all-time series, dating back to 1977. Live stats will be available at CNUsports.com and a live video webcast at CNUsports.com/LIVE
The Captains had an eight-game unbeaten streak snapped last weekend, but bounced back in a big way with a 6-0 win over Randolph-Macon on the road. Offensively, CNU is led by sophomore
Jalon Brown with 24 points on 10 goals and four assists, and senior
Andrew Bonorden with 16 points on six goals and four helpers. Christopher Newport is outscoring their opponents 32-13 through the first 12 games, led defensively by starters
Alec Faulkner,

Salisbury boasts one of the stingiest defenses in the nation, allowing just seven goals this season for a team goals against average of 0.55. Goalkeeper John Vnenchak has a save percentage of over 81% and the Sea Gulls defense is allowing a mere 9.1 shots per game. Offensively, Salisbury is scoring over 2 goals per game, but spreading the offense around with only one player in double figures so far this season, Matt Greene with 12 points.
The game will be the second to last home regular season game of the year for CNU as they are on the road for three of final four matchups.
