CNU Hosts Pair of USA South Women's Soccer Games This Weekend

Senior Day on Sunday vs. Greensboro at 2:00 pm

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. -- The CNU women's soccer team will return to action this weekend with a pair of USA South Athletic Conference games at Captains Field. Christopher Newport will take on Methodist at 2:00 pm on Saturday, followed by a Senior Day matchup versus Greensboro at 2:00 pm on Sunday. 

The Captains are 4-6 overall including a 2-1 mark in conference play so far this season. Junior Dani Gunderson leads the team in scoring with 11 points on three goals and five assists. Senior Kendall Dishaw and sophomore Carly Utterback have each added three assists for CNU.

On Saturday, the Captains will play Methodist (5-8-1, 2-3-1) at 2:00 pm. Brooke Corley has scored four goals and added five assists for 13 points this season. Lisa Paschal has been hot in conference play, scoring five goals to lead the way.

Then, on Sunday, CNU will entertain the league's top team in Greensboro. The Pride has opened up conference play with a 5-1 record, posting an 8-4 overall mark this season. Sarah Lang is second in the league in goals scored with 10 and third in points with 21.

The game will feature a special pre-game presentation honoring five senior Captains. Live stats will be available for both games this weekend.
