CNU Heads to Methodist for USA South Game, 4:00 pm

Captains have won six of their last seven games

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. -- The Christopher Newport University men's basketball team will stay out on the road for a 4:00 pm game today against Methodist University (7-10, 2-2). The Captains (11-5, 4-1) have won six of their last seven games, including pulling out a back-and-forth battle with Greensboro College yesterday.

The Captains are led on the scoreboard by Conley Taylor with 23.3 points per game, while senior Mike Green has added 16.5 points and 6.7 rebounds per game. Newcomer Tra Benefield is averaging 15.5 points and a team-high 7.6 rebounds per game.

Methodist is led by Mark Jernigan, scoring 16 points per game. The Monarchs have won three of their last four, including a 13-point win over Shenandoah yesterday.
