NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – The Captains are taking on the Battling Bishops of N.C. Wesleyan in Rocky Mount, N.C. tonight. CNU is 11-1 overall and 4-0 in conference play. The Battling Bishops are currently 5-6 overall and 2-1 in the USA South with wins against Meredith and Mary Baldwin.

CNU senior Caitlyn Jansen (Lorton, Va.) has a .719 hitting percentage in USA South action and was named the USA South Player of the Week this week. Cory Harris (Williamsburg, Va.) is leading the team in kills with 91. Jessie Heavenrich (Cambria, Calif.) has amassed 329 assists, averaging 10.28 per set. Abby Hogge (Clifton, Va.) has a team-high 24 service aces and 163 digs.

Meredith Smith is leading NCWC in kills with 100 and blocks with 28. Mackenzie Tingle has a team-high 154 assists and 17 service aces. Kelly George has accumulated 195 digs for the Battling Bishops.

CNU and NCWC have met a total of 67 times and CNU leads the series 49-18 and have won the last 22 matches.

The Captains look to extend their current set-winning streak of 30 as they take on the Battling Bishops tonight at 6:30pm.
