Men's Tennis Shuts Out Shenandoah for Fourth Win in Row

WINCHESTER, VA - Coach Rush Cole took six Christopher Newport players north to face Shenandoah, and all six of those Captains won in singles and doubles as CNU extended its men's tennis winning streak to four with a 9-0 victory over the Hornets.

Eric Shulman, continuing a torrid pace that has him on pace to reach the NCAA Division III singles tournament, beat Michael Milanov 6-2, 6-3 at No. 1 in the day's closest match after teaming with Gian Heyer to beat Milanov and Julian Fehr 6-1, 6-1.

Also taking a pair of victories for the day were newcomer Robbie Wagner and returnees Martin Brown, Lorenzo Sison and Chris Yost.

The Captains (11-8, 4-1) will close the regular season with a 2 p.m. home match Saturday against Methodist. A victory will give CNU the No. 2 seed in the USA South Athletic Conference tournament in Burlington, N.C.
