Baseball Smashes Seven Homers in Doubleheader Sweep of Albertus Magnus

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - The CNU baseball team drilled seven home runs in a sweep of Albertus Magnus, 10-3 and 15-3, Wednesday at Captains Park.

Conner Madden had huge day, going 5-7 with two home runs, a triple and seven RBIs. He hit both homers in the second game, including a fifth inning grand slam. It was one of five home runs the Captains hit in that game.'

In the opener, CNU scored in all but the sixth inning. Mike Romett was 3-4 with two RBIs and Madden had two hits including his triple. Parker Neal and Romett hit back-to-back homers on consecutive pitches.

In the second game CNU scored in all but the fourth, with a six-run fifth. Madden was 3-4 with six RBIs. Neal and Travis Medina each went 2-3. The Captains also got home runs from Shannon Mark, Luke Saunders and Ben Lenda, along with Madden's two.

The Captains are now 10-4 and head to Virginia Wesleyan tomorrow at 3 p.m. Albertus Magnus is 0-6.
