Box Score NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – The Christopher Newport University field hockey squad won their fourteenth game of the season with a 2-0 victory over Bridgewater College on Captains Field today. Katelyn Yandle (Portsmouth, Va.) scored both the goals for the Captains giving her 14 goals on the season.

The Eagles and Captains battled for most of the first half with neither team being able to net a goal. But with under a minute left to play the Captains surged forward and junior Corey Rigby (Falmouth, Mass.) passed the ball across the circle to Yandle who put in her first goal of the game.

At just over ten minutes into the second half senior Kylie Cale (Chester, Va.) took a shot on goal that bounced off of the goalkeeper's pads. Yandle collected the ball and pushed it in giving the Captains a 2-0 lead that held until time expired.

The Captains outshot the Eagles 12 to one and had 11 penalty corners without giving up any corners to the Eagles.

CNU goalkeeper Brittany Bradsher (Hampton, Va.) had one save while Bridgewater keeper Taylor Waddell had four for the Eagles.

The Captains are on the road next weekend as they take on #16 Rowan University in Alexandria, Va. with a start time of 12:30.
