FERRUM, Va. – The CNU volleyball team swept its first two USA South matches of the year with 3-0 wins over Peace and Meredith Saturday.
In the first match the Captains blanked Peace, 25-23, 25-18, 25-20 as Kara Elder led the was with 15 kills and six digs. Bailey Jensen and Caitlyn Jansen each contributed eight kills, while Abby Hogge had 12 digs and Cory Harris ten with seven kills. Setters Jessie Heavenrich and Ryann Lowery added 21 and 14 assists respectively.
In a 25-12, 25-18, 25-14 win over Meredith, Elder and Jansen each had 10 kills, while Hogge chipped in with 11 digs. Alyssa Kidd added 15 assists.
CNU remains on the road Saturday, traveling to Greensboro where it will play the Pride at noon and Methodist at 2 p.m. The Captains are now 9-3 for the season.
