2011 – JUNIOR SEASON - Saw action in 41 matches and 128 sets during her junior campaign…Had a strong season defensively, finishing fourth on the team with 270 digs while also chipping in with a reception percentage of .814…Posted at least 10 digs on nine occasions, including a season-high 15 against Salisbury on Oct. 8…Reached double-digit digs in three of the team’s first six matches of the year, including back-to-back contests against Bluffton and the Coast Guard Academy on Sept. 3 and 4…Posted consecutive 10-dig efforts again in the NCAA Tournament, collecting 12 in the quarterfinals against SUNY Cortland on Nov. 18 and 13 against Carthage in the semifinals on Nov. 19…Showed her offensive prowess against Virginia Wesleyan on Oct. 26, firing 10 kills to go along with a .280 hitting percentage…Missed a double-double against the Marlins by one dig after notching nine while also converting a season-high 15 service receptions…Launched 18 aces during the season, including three against Greensboro on Nov. 1…Posted at least one in five consecutive matches from Oct. 26-Nov. 4.

2010 - SOPHOMORE SEASON - Selected to the All-Virginia second team and first team All-Conference…Played in 131 of the 136 sets played by the Captains…Was second on the team with 299 kills (2.28 K/Set) with a season high 15 kills against Emory in the NCAA Elite Eight…Added 26 sets and 27 service aces…Was second on the team in digs with 383 (2.92 D/Set)…Had five solo blocks and 43 block assists…

2009 - FRESHMAN SEASON - In her first season at CNU she was selected as an Honorable Mention All-American...Also chosen as the Conference, State and South Region Rookie of the Year...She was second ont he team in kills, with 395, a 2.93 per set average...Recorded 19 kills in the NCAA Regionals versus Stevens, also recorded 18 kills against Mary Washington and 16 against Gettysburg and Randolph-Macon...Also performed well on defense, producing 382 digs...Had 22 digs against Roanoke and 19 against Randolph-Macon...Chipped in 52 service aces, including seven against Mary Washington...Recorded 36 blocks for the season, with four coming against Greensboro College...Also added 22 assists for the year.

AT ALBEMARLE - A first team all-state selection, as well as first team all- Northwest Region and all-Commonwealth District in her senior year...It was her second all-region honor and third all-district... Central Virginia Player of the Year and first team all-Central Virginia for three seasons...Team MVP twice and coach Mark Ragland's team captain as a senior...Played in the Virginia High School Coaches Association all-star game at the Freeman Center in 2009...Had 382 kills as a senior, a school record, along with 220 as a junior and 181 in her sophomore year...Had a total of 162 service aces, second most in school history...A member of the Art Honor Society and Beta Club, as well as FCA, FAST and DECA...Did volunteer work for the Salvation Army and her church.

PERSONAL - Kara Morgan Elder was born July 30, 1991 in Charlottesville, Va... The daughter of George and Lori Elder will major in Psychology... Has two sisters, Megan, 27 and Ashley, 24.
