Lynchburg Blanks Women's Soccer, 2-0

  NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – Tenth-ranked Lynchburg scored two first half goals and went on to a 2-0 victory over Christopher Newport in the women's soccer opener for both teams, Tuesday night.


  The Hornets got on the board in the first four minutes as freshman Shelley Hoath scored on an assist from her sister, sophomore Beverly Hoath. Sophomore Brittany Klippstein then added what would be the final goal 22 minutes into the half.


  Lynchburg out-shot CNU, 11-0, with Captains goalie, senior Dineen Sampson, making three saves.


  CNU returns to action this weekend at the Virginia Wesleyan Marlins Classic. The Captains meet Catholic at 1:00 Saturday and Stevenson at 2:00 Sunday.


 
CNU returns home the following weekend for its own Captains Classic.
