NEWPORT NEWS, VA – Christopher Newport's men's tennis squad swept Shenandoah 9-0 Wednesday on the CNU Courts.
In doubles, John Braig and Dusty Nelson (CNU) defeated Michael Milanov and Tim Robinson 8-4 at No. 1; Martin Brown and Eric Shulman (CNU) defeated Julian Fehr and Evan Lowery 8-1; Lorenzo Sison and Chris Yost (CNU) defeated Peter Baggan and Anthony Horkan 8-1 at No. 3.
In singles, Shulman (CNU) defeated Milanov 6-0, 6-0; Sison (CNU) defeated Robinson 6-1, 6-2 at No. 2; Nelson (CNU) defeated Fehr 6-2, 6-0; Brown (CNU) defeated Lowery 6-0, 6-0; Braig (CNU) defeated Baggan 6-0, 6-0 and Young (CNU) defeated Horkan 6-0, 6-0 at No. 6.
The Hornets fall to 4-7 overall and 0-5 on the year. The Captains improve to 8-9 on the season and 4-1 in conference play. Christopher Newport returns to action Saturday when they travel to Methodist with start time set for 2 pm.
