NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - The CNU volleyball team avenged a 3-1 loss in the second match of the season to Mary Washington with a 3-1 win of its own in the first game of the CNU Invitational at the Freeman Center Friday.
  The Captains took a 25-16, 20-25, 25-13, 29-27 victory as Kara Elder led the way with 18 kills and 13 digs. Caitlyn Jansen added 16 kills and bailey Jensen had 11.
  Abby Hogge contributed 17 digs, while Jessie Heavenrich totalled 24 assists and Ryann Lowery had 17.
  CNU meets No. 2 ranked Juniata at approximately 7 p.m. Friday night.
