Field Hockey Shuts Out Bridgewater 5-0

Box Score NEWPORT NEWS, VA - The 17th-ranked Christopher Newport field hockey team scored four first half goals on the way to a 5-0 shutout win over Bridgewater. The game Wednesday afternoon at Captains Field improved CNU's record to 8-2 on the season.

Senior Annie Gehring scored the first two goals of the day for the Captains. Junior Taylor Harrell scored twice as well, and now leads the Captains with 10 goals this season in 10 games. Sophomore Paige Childers scored the other goal for CNU.

Senior Kim Tomlin and junior Emma Mehrabi each had an assist.

Senior Emma Stout and sophomore Brittany Bradsher split time in goal in the shutout.

Bridgewater falls to 7-5 on the season with the loss.

Carrie Moura's Captains head to Owings Mill, Maryland, this Saturday for a 3:30 game with Stevenson.
