Box Score NEWPORT NEWS, VA - The Christopher Newport Field Hockey Team defeated Wesley College 2-1 Sunday afternoon at Captains Field.

   Wesley College started off the game by controlling the better part of the first 15 minutes and scoring a goal in the 12th minute of first half. 

   The tide would soon change after a CNU timeout as Chrissy Kurecki was able to tie the game four minutes before halftime.

   The second half saw CNU take the lead one minute in when Katelyn Yandle found Brianna Milne who fired the eventual game winner past Wesley keeper Sarah Johnson.

   Wesley out shot CNU 15-14 but Emma Stout was superb in goal for the Captains as she was able to make nine saves on the day.

   With the win the Captains imrpove to 12-3 overall with three games left to play.
 
   CNU will return to action on Thursday when they travel to Lynchburg for a 6pm game.
