CNU Men Halt Pride 4-2

GREENSBORO, NC - The CNU Men's Soccer team improved to 4-0 in USA SOUTH play on Saturday by defeating Greensboro 4-2.

CNU fell behind early for the second time in as many games when Greensboro's Chris Davis scored in the fourth minute. That deficit would be short lived as Clif Kipper was able to knot the score at 1-1 only 90 seconds later.

The Captains would take a 2-1 lead into halftime as Winston Mattheisen was able to score his ninth goal of the season off a feed from Clif Kipper.

The Captains would get the game winner barely two minutes into the second half as Sean Moriarty notched his second goal of the season on an unassisted goal.

In the 76th minute Brian Natale would round out the scoring for CNU and provide the final tally for the 4-2 victory.

With the win the Captains improve to 13-2 overall and 4-0 in the USA SOUTH.

CNU will return to action on Wednesday night when they host Mary Washington at 7pm.
