NEWPORT NEWS, VA - The Christopher Newport Men's Soccer team defeated the Methodist Monarchs 1-0 Saturday night on Captains Field.

   The Captains scored their only goal of the game in the 27th minute when Nao Masuda's first shot was deflected back to him and he was able to beat the Monarch's keeper Kyle Beach for the score. The goal is Masuda's 3rd of the season.

   The Captains now stand at 11-1 overall, 2-0 in USA SOUTH play and are in the middle of an impressive eight game winning streak.

   CNU will return to action on Wednesday night when they host Shenandoah at 7pm on Captains Field.
