Patrick Sullivan joins the CNU staff of Head Coach Pal Crowley for the 2026 season, and will have a focus on the defensive side of the ball, especially the defensive line.
The former Captain saw action in 30 games for CNU from 2022-2024. He joined the CNU roster as a freshman and played in all ten games in Paul Crowley's first season at the helm in the fall of 2022, making 15 total tackles, including nine solo stops. Six of his tackles went for a loss of yardage, amounting to 20 yards total. Sullivan recorded his first career sack at Kean, and posted a season-high four tackles vs. William Paterson at TowneBank Stadium.
Sullivan continued his CNU career as a sophomore in 2023, playing in ten of 11 games for the Captains at a linebacker spot. He registered 20 total tackles, with 12 solo take downs. Four of his stops went for a loss of 24 yards, and he also logged three sacks, one in each of the last three games of the season, for 22 yards lost. Sullivan broke up a pass and also blocked a kick in CNU's NCAA game at Randolph-Macon on November 18th, posting five tackles in the NCAA game. He recorded a career-high eight tackles, including five solos, vs. Montclair State at TowneBank Stadium.
In 2024, Sullivan saw action in all ten games and recorded 59 tackles, including 18 solo take downs. He made eight tackles for lost yardage of 26 yards, and two sacks for nine yards lost. Sullivan forced four fumbles and recovered one. He concluded his CNU paying career with 94 total stops, and 39 solo tackles. He also made six sacks in all for a loss of 38 yards.
Sullivan is from Stafford, Va., and is a graduate of Brooke Point High School. Â
