Symone' McCullough

Symone' entered her first year with the Captains’ Sports Medicine team as an Assistant Athletic Trainer in 2025. She currently works with Women's Basketball, Volleyball, and Cheer.  

A Virginia Beach native, Symone' obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance from Virginia State University (VSU) with a minor in Kinesiology. She then received her Master of Science in Athletic Training at the University of Virginia (UVA). While at UVA, she gained Division I experience in Women's Field Hockey, Women's Basketball, and Men & Women’s Track and Field. Before joining the Captains, she worked as the head Athletic Trainer at Colonial Heights High School while also assisting her former college Athletic Trainer at VSU with sports medicine coverage for Baseball, Softball, Men and Women's Tennis, Women's Basketball, and Women’s Volleyball. 

Symone' is currently a member of the National Athletic Training Association (NATA), Virginia Athletic Training Association (VATA), National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) and currently holds her certification as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS).Â
