Krista Hughes joined the CNU volleyball coaching staff in 2015 after a successful tenure on the court for the Captains.
 
After spending two seasons at Division I East Tennessee State, Hughes came to CNU in 2012. During her three years with the Captains, she appeared in 70 matches and helped the squad capture three conference titles and a pair of NCAA Regional crowns. She finished her career with 251 kills and 99 blocks while hitting at a .271 clip.
 
Equally successful in the classroom, Hughes was an Academic All-Conference selection and graduated from CNU in 2015 with a degree in psychology.
 
Following her playing days, she got her coaching career started in fine fashion as she helped lead CNU to a 30-3 record in 2015. Along the way, the Captains won the Capital Athletic Conference championship and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
