2015 - Senior Season - Named Christopher Newport's Female Student-Athlete Leader of the Year ... Served as team captain for the third consecutive season ... Starred on the defensive end as a middle blocker during her final year with the Captains … Led the squad and ranked second in the conference with 100 blocks … Became just the 11th player in program history to reach that benchmark in a single season … Had at least five blocks on seven occasions … Posted seven rejections against St. Benedict on September 11 before matching that effort with seven more at Gallaudet on October 20 … Registered six blocks against St. Mary’s (Md.) on October 18 before coming back with six more against the Seahawks in the CAC semifinals on November 5 … Excelled as a server as well, pumping 40 aces during the year … Capped off her career with five aces in the second round of the NCAA Tournament against Randolph-Macon on November 14 … Also stung four winners against Bridgewater on September 5 … Averaged 1.34 kills-per-set, including a season-high 11 against No. 4 Emory on September 25 … Also drilled eight on just 15 swings against Washington & Lee on September 26 before matching that performance against Wesley on October 28 … Notched at least five kills on 17 occasions.

2014 - Junior Season - Served as a team captain for the second straight year and came through with a tremendous campaign … Appeared in 34 matches and earned 30 starts during the season … Ranked second on the team with 89 blocks and stood seventh in the CAC with a 0.84 blocks-per-set average … Was even greater in league play as she led the conference with an astounding 1.47 blocks-per-set average against CAC foes … Tied the single-match program record with 12 rejections at Salisbury on September 30 … Had at least two blocks in 23 matches during the year, including six five-block efforts … Also excelled as a server, ranking second on the team with 47 aces … Smoked five aces against Randolph-Macon on October 24 … Clubbed four aces and chipped in with eight kills against Franklin & Marshall on September 20 … Also registered a pair of aces against Stevenson in the second round of the NCAA Tournament before drilling three more in the Regional Finals against Eastern on November 16 … Efficient on the offensive end, notching 115 kills while hitting at a .289 clip … Opened the year with an impressive run, registering 15 straight kills without a single attack error.

2013 - Sophomore Season - Selected as team captain and appeared in 22 matches during her first year on the court at CNU … Earned a starting spot in each of the first three contests and pieced together her most well-rounded performance against Berry on August 30 … Secured a season-high seven digs, six assists, and five blocks against the Vikings … Also unloaded six kills against Berry after opening the year with five blasts against Lynchburg earlier in the day … Collected five kills, four blocks, and three aces against William Peace on October 11 before firing a season-best eight blasts against Penn State Harrisburg on October 18 … Excelled on the defensive end as well, notching at least one block in each of her final seven appearances. 

2012 - Freshman Season - Suffered a season-ending knee injury before the year that sidelined her during her first campaign with the Captains.

Before CNU - Excelled as a middle blocker for Yorktown during her first three seasons before starring in the same role for EJ King High School in Sasebo, Japan as a senior … Earned a spot on the All-Far East team during her time at E.J. King, while also being honored as the Division II Tournament Most Valuable Player … Was highly-decorated during her time at Yorktown as well, earning honorable mention All-Region and All-Met honors as a junior … Perennial member of the All-District squad, taking home first-team honors as a sophomore and junior after garnering honorable mention nods as a freshman … Selected as the 2010 National District Most Valuable Player during her final season at Yorktown.

Personal - Ashley Ann Rock was born on October 16, 1993 in Sindlefingen, Germany … She is the daughter of Chip and Kathy Rock and has two siblings - an older brother, Austin and a younger sister, Katie … Austin was a standout catcher for the Moravian College baseball team … She volunteered with the Lost Dog Foundation … Her favorite movie is "Bridesmaids," while her favorite novel is "Of Mice and Men" … She has met Stevie Wonder and hopes to meet Oprah one day … She is undecided on a major at CNU.
