Taylor joins the Captains for her first season after completing her career with the nationally-ranked University of Virginia. She is a 2016 graduate of UVa, earning a degree in the Human Biology Distinguished Major Program. After playing for the Club Tennis Team for two years, Taylor earned a spot on Virginia's Division I varsity team during her junior and senior seasons.Â
Wingo made her collegiate debut in 2015 against nationally-ranked Utah, and appeared in several dual matches during her senior year in 2016. She picked up a straight set win in the NCAA Tournament first round, downing her opponent from Fairleigh Dickinson, 6-0, 6-0.Â
Equally as impressive off the court, Wingo was recognized by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) as one of three players from Virginia to earn Scholar-Athlete honors.Â
Prior to her time at UVA, Wingo was a two-time Florida state champion and earned 2011 Daily Progress Girls Tennis Player of the Year honors. In 2011, she was named MVP of the Tidewater Conference of Independent Schools and also earned All-State honors while collecting Division II Player of the Year honors. She attended high school at Hampton Roads Academy in Newport News, Va.Â
