Megan Bauer enters her second season as a member of the CNU coaching staff in 2025-26. Bauer was a member of the Captains from 2020-24.
While on the sidelines last season, Bauer helped lift Christopher Newport to a 13-win season, tying for the most wins in a season under head coach David Weiner. The last of those 13 wins came in the Coast-To-Coast Athletic Conference Championship where Bauer helped lead the Captains to a second straight conference title with a 4-1 over UC Santa Cruz.
Additionally, Bauer helped coach a pair of CNU players to NCAA Singles and Doubles Championship appearances. During the season, the Captains collected the highest national ranking in program history, at No. 14, while CNU also set new standards in the singles and doubles national rankings. Raine Weis was ranked No. 14 in singles while Weis and Kylie Schaefer were ranked as high as No. 7 in the nation.
As a player, the Gainesville, Virginia native was an All-Conference selection following her senior year while playing with partner Kylie Schaefer. She piled up over 25 career wins in doubles play with eight different partners in her four-year career.
As a member of the 2023-24 CNU Women's Tennis team, Bauer helped elevate the program to new heights including the highest national ranking in program history at that point. The Captains were propelled to the finest season in program history with a 13-6 overall record and a conference championship, unseating perennial champion Mary Washington for the first time. CNU earned an at-large berth into the NCAA Tournament and were awarded a first-round bye.
Bauer graduated with a degree in Psychology in 2024.
