Owen Burnett is in his first season as a member of the coaching staff with the Christopher Newport women's lacrosse team after joining the program as a team manager in 2022.

In addition to his time with the women's lacrosse program, Burnett has also been a standout member of the men's soccer team. Since arriving in Newport News in 2019, he has appeared in 23 games while helping guide the Captains to a pair of NCAA Tournament berths.

During his third season with the program in 2021, Burnett saw action in 18 games, including all three bouts in the national playoffs on the way to an appearance in the Sweet 16. The Pennington, New Jersey native ranked fourth on the team with eight points, including a game-winning goal against St. Mary's (Md.) and another strike in a nationally-ranked duel at No. 15 Chicago.

Off the field, Burnett is a business management major at Christopher Newport.
