Kat Francis

Kat Francis begins her first year as an assistant coach with the Christopher Newport women’s lacrosse team following a decorated career as a standout at Lynchburg.
 
During her time with the Hornets, Francis was a four-time All-League performer before graduating in 2016. Along the way, she was named the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Rookie of the Year in 2013 and secured a pair of All-State honors, including first-team nods as a senior.
 
At the time of her graduation from Lynchburg, Francis was the program’s all-time leader with 215 draw controls and also ranked among the top-10 in points, goals, and caused turnovers. In addition to her work on the field, she also has a wealth of experience coaching at the club and high school levels in South Carolina.
 
Francis earned her Bachelor’s degree in athletic training from Lynchburg before attaining a Master’s in health, exercise, and sports science from The Citadel in May.
