2007 - Freshman Year - Became one of the Captains’ two top starting pitchers in her rookie season. Hurled consecutive games in which she allowed just three hits in six innings toward the end of the season against Chowan and Ferrum. The Ferrum game was in the USA South tournament and resulted in a 6-0 win. Had an outstanding total of 86 strikeouts in just 91 innings including nine in her Chowan win and eight against King’s (Pa.). Issued just 21 walks... Included on the USA South all-academic team.

AT HANOVER - Earned first team all-state honors, as well as first team all-region twice and second team once...She was also a second team all-state selection as a sophomore...Named first team all-Capital District three times and second team once...Played in the Virginia High School Coaches Association all-star game as a senior...Played for coach Chris Pace whose team one a state title during Bruce’s career.

PERSONAL - Kristen P. Bruce was born Jan. 18, 1988 in Hanover, Va...She’s the daughter of Edward and Brenda Bruce and is majoring in Studio Art.
