Following a four-year career in which she played over 100 games for the Captains, Madison Howdyshell returns to the sideline in 2019-20 as a student assistant coach for Christopher Newport. Howdyshell helped lead the Captains to a pair of conference championships and four NCAA Tournament appearances during her career.
After winning the 2018-19 CAC Championship, Howdyshell etched her name in history with the rest of her senior class as the only unit to make it to the NCAA Tournament in all four years of her career. The Captains danced to the Sweet 16 in all four of her appearances, and advanced all the way to the Final Four in 2016-17, her sophomore season.
A tireless worker on the defensive end of the floor, Howdyshell grabbed 92 steals in her career including 50 during her senior season. She started 27 of 28 games played in 2018-19 with a career-best 3.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 1.4 assists per game.
Howdyshell is working toward a Business degree at Christopher Newport and will graduate in May 2020.
