Christopher Newport University

Julia Duggan is entering her first season as a member of the the Christopher Newport coaching staff in 2022-23. She joined the CNU sideline after a three-year stint as an assistant coach at Endicott College in Beverly, Massachusetts. Duggan was a part of the coaching staff that helped guide the Gulls to the program's first-ever conference championship and would go on to reach the NCAA Tournament second round. 

As an assistant coach at Endicott, Duggan helped lead the team to a 19-win campaign in 2019-20 and another 17-win season in 2021-22. She joined the coaching ranks after an exceptional playing career at NCAA Division I Rider University before going on to continue her playing career professionally overseas. An All-MAAC forward for Rider, Duggan finished her career with over 1,000 points and 800 rebounds while helping lead the Broncs to a 24-win senior season and WNIT appearance. 

Duggan went on to coach and play professionally in Germany with the TG Neuss Tigers where she nearly averaged a double-double with 10 points and nine rebounds per game. She also played with CJS Geispolsheim in France. 

She graduated with a degree in Public Relations in May 2017 and currently resides in Newport News.
