Taylor Frenia

One of the most accomplished throwers in William & Mary history, Taylor Frenia joined the Christopher Newport track & field coaching staff in 2017.

Dominant during his time with the Tribe, Frenia graduated as the program's all-time record-holder in three events. He established a new school standard in the discus (58.70 meters) as well as the indoor and outdoor shot put (18.31 meters and 18.35 meters, respectively).

Equally accomplished on the conference level, Frenia tied the all-time Colonial Athletic Association record with seven individual titles during his career. Capping off his tenure with a memorable performance, he became the first league member to sweep the shot put, discus, and hammer at the outdoor championships since 1992. For that performance, he was named the CAA Field Athlete of the Meet and the Men's Track & Field Co-Athlete of the Year.

Along with his efforts at the league level, Frenia also qualified for the NCAA Semifinals in the shot put and discus. He was also a perennial IC4A qualifier and won the indoor shot put title during the 2015-16 campaign.
