Sarah Atkins joins the CNU coaching staff for her first season in 2013.

Atkins is a 2012 graduate of Lenoir-Rhyne University after one of the finest careers in Bears history. During her four years at Lenoir-Rhyne, Sarah was named the South Atlantic Conference Freshman of the Year, a three-time All-Conference player and three-time All-Southeast Regional Player. She earned NFCA All-Regional Team honors three times and earned All-American honors in 2010.

Atkins graduated as the all-time leader in home runs (49), runs batted in (190), walks (109) and games played (229) in Lenoir-Rhyne history. She played the bulk of her career as a catcher, finishing with a career batting average of .340 with 227 hits, 133 runs and 414 total bases. She helped guide the Bears to three conference championships, three NCAA Regional championship titles and two Super Regional championship appearances.

The 2008 Warwick High School graduate was named the 2010 Peninsula Sports Club Out-of-State Female Athlete of the Year.
