David Reed joins the CNU men's tennis coaching staff for the first time in 2018-19 after concluding a decorated career with the Captains last season. 

One of the Captains' all-time leaders in wins for both singles and doubles, Reed starred on the top line from 2014-18. The 2015 Capital Athletic Conference Rookie of the Year would go on to earn first team All-Conference honors twice in his career in both singles and doubles. 

Reed won 50 career singles matches while playing at No. 1 throughout his tenure as a Captain. With doubles partner Justin Cerny, Reed finished with back-to-back appearances in the NCAA Division III Doubles Championship, and wrapped his senior year ranked No. 14 nationally. 

Reed graduated from Christopher Newport in 2018 with a degree in Marketing.
