2023 - Senior Season - Remained a valuable contributor on faceoffs while helping Christopher Newport advance to the NCAA Semifinals for the second time in program history ... Posted a .527 faceoff percentage after winning 49 of his 93 duels during the year ... Won a season-high nine faceoffs and grabbed seven ground balls during a nationally-ranked showdown at No. 4 Salisbury on April 8 ... Won two battles in each of the squad's top-20 wins against No. 20 Stevenson on February 25 and No. 11 Lynchburg on April 1 ... Also captured a faceoff and snagged a ground ball during a 15-11 triumph over No. 1 RIT on March 17 ... Saw action in five of the team's games against nationally-ranked foes during the year ... Went 8-for-12 at the dot while hauling in five ground balls against Catholic on March 4 ... Was a perfect 6-for-6 in the season opener against Grove City on February 18 before going 5-for-5 with a goal against Randolph-Macon on March 1 ... Also added a strike at Stockton on April 15 ... Handed out an assist and secured four ground balls at Mary Washington on April 22 ... Finished the year with 32 total rollers, including two or more in nine of his 14 appearances ... 2022 - Junior Season - Made 15 appearances as a faceoff specialist during his third year with the Captains … Saw action in all three games during the NCAA Tournament, including an epic effort in the opener against Sewanee on May 14 … Won 11 of his 15 faceoff attempts and snatched five ground balls to kick off the national playoffs … Also won a battle against No. 14 Wesleyan on May 15 and saw action in the Elite Eight against No. 6 York (Pa.) as well … Captured four faceoffs, forced a turnover, and scored a goal against Whittier on March 27 … Went 4-for-4 with a pair of ground balls in a league showdown with Mary Washington on April 23 … Snatched five of his eight duels at Randolph-Macon on February 19 … Won a faceoff in a top-20 showdown with No. 19 Ursinus on March 9 … Also took part in regular season bouts with No. 20 Hampden-Sydney on February 26, No. 10 Gettysburg on March 18, and No. 7 Lynchburg on March 19 … Won 33 of his 69 total attempts during the year and grabbed 16 ground balls … Snatched at least two rollers in four of his outings and won at least 50 percent of his faceoffs on eight occasions.

2021 - Sophomore Season - Saw action as a faceoff specialist while spending time on the midfield unit during his second year in Newport News … Took part in 17 games and won 26 of his 56 faceoff attempts … Went 6-for-10 and was credited with the game-winning goal during a victory at Randolph-Macon on March 17 … Added four faceoff victories and snatched a season-high three ground balls against Southern Virginia on March 3 … Also won four faceoffs in a league showdown against Mary Washington on April 10 … Saw action in six of the squad’s battles with nationally-ranked competition … Forced a turnover in a victory against No. 2 Lynchburg on March 20 … Won a faceoff against No. 2 Salisbury on April 3 and came back with a ground ball during the Final Four against the nationally-ranked Sea Gulls on May 23 … Finished the year with 11 total ground balls, including two in a non-conference triumph at Washington (Md.) on March 13 … Secured at least one faceoff victory in 11 of his appearances, including a perfect 2-for-2 outing in the regular season finale against St. Mary’s (Md.) on May 1.

2020 - Freshman Season - Earned consistent playing time during his first season in Newport News … Saw action in all six games with the Captains … Took a faceoff in his collegiate debut at Washington (Md.) on February 15 … Saw valuable minutes in nationally-ranked showdowns with No. 9 Ursinus on February 29 and No. 16 Stevenson on March 7 … Also helped the Captains register victories over Roanoke on February 19, Hampden-Sydney on February 22, and Eastern on March 4.

At The Gunston School - Hauled in awards as a standout midfielder with the Herons … Was a four-time ESIAC All-Conference selection and brought home the Player of the Year award for his work as a senior … Also was a perennial All-MILL honoree, including a first-team pick during his final campaign … Named the Team MVP as a junior and senior after earning the Coaches Award for his efforts as a freshman … Honored as a US Lacrosse Academic All-American for his work on and off the field as well … Also excelled as a midfielder on the soccer team and picked up a pair of All-Conference nods.
 
Personal - Ryan Cole Evans is the son of Clint Evans and Joyce James … Has a younger brother, Riley … His dad played lacrosse at Washington (Md.), while his grandfather, Richard Evans, played basketball at Delaware … James Harden is his favorite athlete, and his parents are the most impressive people he has ever met … His dream vacation would be to go duck hunting in Saskatchewan … “Last Chance U” is his favorite TV show, and Alan Jackson is his favorite musician … Majoring in management.
