SEAN FOLEY joined the Christopher Newport men's basketball staff prior to the start of the 2021-2022 season. He spent two years as Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach and Director of Recruiting as well as Head Reserve Team Coach at Eastern Nazarene College (MA) before coming to CNU.
Foley was born in Baltimore, Md., and grew up in Aberdeen, Md. He a graduate of McDaniel College, receiving his bachelor's degree in Exercise Science/Physical Education in 2015, with Coaching and Athletic Training minors. He also received his master's from McDaniel in 2019 in Kinesiology with a concentration in Athletic Administration.
"I got to know Sean while working at Jay Bilas' camp several years ago," Head Coach John Krikorian said. "He impressed me so much with his organization, communication, and passion for the game, I knew I wanted him on my staff. I am confident he will make an immediate and lasting positive impact on our program."
Foley's coaching experience also includes being part of a 3A Maryland state championship as an Assistant Coach at C.Milton Wright High School from 2013 to 2017. He was also the Director of Operations at St. Paul’s School during the 2017-2018 season, and Head Boys Varsity Basketball Coach at Eastern Technical High School in 2018-2019. He has also worked at numerous camps and clinics.
