2017 - Junior - Ranked second on the team with 71 tackles while serving as one of the squad’s top ballhawks … Forced two fumbles and recovered three, which equaled the second-highest single-season total in program history … Notched sacks against Southern Virginia and Montclair State … Finished the season with 10 tackles for a loss, including a pair against MSU … Also added 1.5 stops behind the line of scrimmage at Southern Virginia and Salisbury … Picked up a season-high 11 tackles against TCNJ and also reached double figures with 10 stops at SVU … Secured nine total tackles at Salisbury and had at least five in eight of his 10 appearances.

2016 - Sophomore - Competed in nine contests during his second season at CNU … Earned a starting assignment in the season finale as an inside linebacker against Southern Virginia and posted five tackles, including half a sack … Registered a season-high eight tackles at William Paterson on November 5 … Notched three stops, including a pair of solo tackles, at Hampden-Sydney on September 10 … Finished the year with 20 tackles and had two or more on four occasions.

2015 - Freshman - Made two appearances in his first season with the Captains...Picked up four total tackles, including two solo and two assisted stops...Earned first career tackle in collegiate debut against William Paterson on November 7...Added two solo and one assisted tackle at Southern Virginia on November 14.

At Ocean Lakes - Played linebacker all four years under Coach Scott...Helped lead Dolphins to a 6A state championship as a senior.

Personal - Jamal Saint Anthony Spence was born in Portsmouth, Va...Son of Chester and Tonja Spence...Has one sister, Marrissa, and a twin brother, Julien, who also plays on the CNU football team...Has not yet decided on a major.
