Tom Caporale joins the Christopher Newport staff for 2012. He will work primarily with CNU's inside linebackers.
A native of Bergen County, New Jersey, Caporale was an All-County selection in high school in both basketball and football. He went on to have a standout career playing football at Springfield College, where he was a three-year starter and was named the team's defensive MVP twice. He was a two-time Empire 8 All-Conference selection, a Division II-III All-New England selection as well as an ECAC All-Star.
He began his coaching career as a volunteer assistant and then a graduate assistant at Springfield College. During his time there, he worked with the secondary, linebackers and special teams.
Caporale will also have the responsibilities of Video Coordinator on the CNU Staff.
