Corey Headley begins his third season on the Christopher Newport staff, and is the Recruiting Coordinator for the Captains in addition to Wide Receivers coach. Headley arrived in Newport News after spending two seasons on the staff at Rose-Hulman in Indiana.

Headley has overseen a talented group of receivers the last two seasons, as Christopher Newport’s passing game has excelled to new heights. Last year, senior Joshua Davis and sophomore Cole Blais combined to catch 91 passes, including 11 for touchdowns. Davis, Blais, and Kyree Weaver have all been honored as All-Conference receivers in the NJAC. Headley has also been busy working closely with Art Link in the recruitment process of all incoming Captains.

Headley received his Bachelor of Arts in education from Carson-Newman University (TN) in 2013. After serving as a graduate assistant there for a season, he spent the 2014 season working with the Unicoi County (TN) High School football program.

Headley then joined the staff at Rose-Hulman in 2015, and worked closely with one of the top offensive units in Division III over his last two seasons there. His efforts there helped lead Rose-Hulman to the school’s first trip to the NCAA playoffs in 2016.
