Almondo Curry joins the CNU coaching staff for 2012. He will focus primarily on the squad's defensive backs.
Curry is a product of Hampton High School and the University of Virginia, where he was a mainstay in the defensive backfield for Coach Al Groh's Cavaliers from 2000 to 2004. He was an All-ACC selection, and played professionally following his graduation with the Montreal Alouettes and Saskatchewan Roughriders of the Canadian Football League from 2004-06.
From 2008-10, Curry began his coaching career as an assistant at his alma mater, Hampton High School. Last season, he was the Defensive Coordinator at Heritage High School in Newport News.
Curry and his wife, Lameka, have two daughters, Dayzja and Ava.
