2012 - Freshman Season - Took part in seven games during her first year in Newport News … Made her collegiate debut in the opener against Rhodes on September 1 … Helped lead the Captains to a perfect 7-0 record in her outings.

At Colonial Forge - Competed as a forward and midfielder for four years in high school … Selected to the second-team All-Commonwealth District squad during her senior campaign … Also earned third-team All-District honors for her efforts as a junior.

Personal - Maria Lane is the daughter of Len and Debbie Lane … Has an older brother, Michael, and two older sisters, Michelle and Melissa … Michelle competed in field hockey at Maryland and helped the Terrapins win the 2008 National Championship ... Would like to own a wildlife rescue center … Majoring in Organismal Biology.
