2017 - Senior Season - Finished off her career with another terrific campaign on the squad’s back line … Earned second-team All-Conference accolades for her efforts … Started all 19 games on a defensive unit that ranked first in the NCAA with a 0.67 goals-against-average … Helped the Captains limit the opposition to just 6.9 shots per game while registering 10 shutouts … The team's 10 shutouts ranked fifth in the NCAA and second in CNU history … Came through with a defensive save against DePauw on September 3 … Played every second during six of the squad’s shutouts, including 1-0 victories over No. 3 Salisbury on September 30 and Mary Washington during the league semifinals on November 1 … Saw a season-high 80 minutes of work while leading Christopher Newport to its first CAC Championship with a 2-1 double-overtime triumph against Salisbury on November 4 … Finished the year ranked third on the squad with 1,295 minutes of action … Established a new program record for career minutes by a field player after wrapping up her tenure with 4,468.

2016 - Junior Season - Was a mainstay on the field for the third straight year, starting all 19 games while helping stabilize the defense ... Anchored a unit that ranked sixth in the nation with a 0.78 goals-against-average and 10th with nine shutouts ... Stood fourth on the team with 1,259 minutes of work during the season and saw at least 70 minutes in 14 of her appearances ... Also contributed on the offensive end and was a key member of the team's penalty corner unit ... Tied for third on the squad with four assists ... Came through with a pair of helpers against Randolph-Macon on September 14 ... Also added assists on game-winning goals against DePauw on September 11 and Mary Washington in the regular season finale on October 26 ... Chipped in with a goal against Oberlin on September 5 as well ... Finished the year with 20 shots, including 13 on-goal.

2015 - Sophomore Season - Built upon her breakout debut campaign with a solid second season with the Captains … Saw action in all 17 games and earned six starts … Cracked the starting lineup in each of the first five games and rewarded the team with two goals and an assist during that streak … Opened the year with a strike against Bridgewater on September 1 before adding three points against Ferrum on September 6 … Also contributed a goal and an assist against Roanoke on September 25 before adding her final tally versus Frostburg State on October 24 … Finished the year with 10 points, including four goals … Contributed 16 shots during the year … All 16 of her attempts were on-target for a pristine 1.000 shot-on-goal percentage.

2014 - Freshman Season - Made a record-breaking debut for the Captains while anchoring the back line … One of only two freshmen to start all 19 games during the year … Led the team with 1,357 minutes of action, which established a new single-season freshman record at CNU .. That total also placed her seventh among all players in program history … Paced a suffocating defensive effort, which recorded seven shutouts during the year … Played every minute and helped blank a pair of ranked opponents during 3-0 victories over No. 19 Lynchburg on September 3 and No. 14 Mary Washington in the CAC semifinals on November 5 … Also never missed a minute during a double-overtime marathon victory against St. Mary’s on October 21.

At Chancellor - Starred as a defender on the field hockey team for the Chargers … Collected first-team All-State, All-Region, and All-Conference accolades as a senior … Also was an honorable mention All-State pick as a junior in addition to receiving first-team All-District and second-team All-Region nods … Named to the second-team All-District squad as a sophomore as well … Helped the team win back-to-back state championships in 2012 and 2013 … Also won conference, district, and regional titles along the way.
 
Personal - Mackenzie Kathleen Neylon is the daughter of Jay and Katie Neylon … Has two older sisters, Meaghan and Kelsey … Meaghan competed in field hockey at VCU for four years …Abby Wambach is her favorite athlete, and her mom is the most impressive person she's ever met ... "The Girl on the Train" is her favorite book ... Would like to be a social worker in an elementary school ... Majoring in social work.
