Christopher Newport University

Lawson Herold is in his second year as a team manager with the Christopher Newport field hockey team.
 
A sophomore at CNU, Herold also serves as a practice player with the Captains and is certified as a USA Field Hockey Level 1 Coach. Prior to arriving in Newport News, he served as a manager and student coach with the field hockey team at Saint John Paul the Great Catholic High School.
 
An outstanding athlete in his own right, Herold was a team captain and state qualifier in swimming during his time at Saint John Paul the Great.
 
A marketing major at Christopher Newport, Herold is a native of Fredericksburg. The son of Dave and Tammye Herold, he is also the younger brother of Taylor Herold, who is the current assistant field hockey coach at Longwood and was an All-American during her playing days at Penn State.
