Christine Loehr begins her second season as an assistant coach with the Christopher Newport field hockey team after piecing together a decorated career as a standout at CAC rival Mary Washington from 2013-16.
 
During her four-year stint with the Eagles, Loehr was a two-time All-Conference selection and capped off her tenure with an All-American campaign in 2016. During her senior season, she ranked second on the squad with 33 points while contributing 11 goals and 11 assists. Along with securing second-team All-American accolades, she was also a first-team All-Conference, All-State, and All-Region honoree for her work during the year.
 
One of the most reliable players in Mary Washington history, Loehr started 74 consecutive games during her career, amassing one of the longest “Iron Man” streaks in the half century of the UMW field hockey program. Making the most of her time on the field, she finished her tenure ranked fourth in school history with 27 career assists. She also chipped in with 31 goals to finish with 89 career points.
 
A native of Chesapeake, Virginia, Loehr graduated from Mary Washington with a degree in biology.
