Allie Kerr

    Leadership Coach
Following a decorated player career with the Captains, Allie Kerr returns to the Christopher Newport field hockey program as a leadership coach in 2019.
 
A familiar face around the team, Kerr was a standout on the squad from 2011-14. During her time with the program, she was a mainstay on the field and finished her tenure ranked among the all-time program leaders with 76 career appearances and 67 starts. Her efforts helped lead the Captains to three NCAA Tournament appearances, including their first trip to the Final Four during the 2013 campaign.
 
For her performance, Kerr stockpiled awards. She was a two-time All-Conference and All-State selection while nabbing first-team All-Region plaudits in 2014. Eventually, she put the finishing touches on her career with an appearance in the prestigious NFHCA Senior All-Star Game.
 
Along with her work on the field, Kerr was a perennial NFHCA National All-Academic honoree while earning a bachelor’s degree in history with a minor in leadership studies in 2015.
 
Following her playing days, Kerr began her coaching career as an assistant at Union College in 2015 before returning to Newport News. Since then, she has served as the Director of Operations for Stick Power Field Hockey while also spending two years as the head coach at Warwick High School.
 
Kerr is married to fellow Christopher Newport alum and former football standout Matt Kerr.
