2003 - Senior Season - Took part in six games during her final year with the Captains … Earned a starting nod in a win over Bridgewater on October 24 … Also helped lead the squad to victories against Sweet Briar on October 8 and St. Mary's (Md.) on October 11.
 
2002 - Junior Season - Started all 12 games in which she played … Had the game-winning assist in a triumph over St. Mary’s (Md.) on October 23 … Came through with defensive saves against Sweet Briar on September 1 and Roanoke on October 6 … Also unloaded nine total shots during the year, including two in wins over Sweet Briar, Bridgewater, and Hood.
 
2001 - Sophomore Season - Saw action in 14 games and earned 13 starts … Established a program record with eight defensive saves ... Became the first player in school history to record two stops in a single contest after accomplishing the feat against St. Mary's (Md.) on October 14 ... Came back two days later and added another pair of defensive saves against Virginia Wesleyan on October 16 ... Had stops in one-goal victories over Villa Julia on September 22 and Wilson on October 23 ... Also made saves against Salisbury on September 20 and Bridgewater on October 5 ... Helped out on the offensive end as well and ranked second on the squad with five assists … Erupted for four points, including two helpers, at Trinity (D.C.) on September 28 … Also came through with two helpers against Mary Baldwin on September 7 … Handed out an assist in the opener against Randolph-Macon and found the back of the cage with her first goal of the year against Villa Julie … Took 36 shots during the year, including five against Mary Baldwin.
 
2000 - Freshman Season - Started every game for the Captains in CNU’s first year of field hockey … Recorded her first collegiate goal while taking five shots in a win over Sweet Briar on October 15 … That strike proved to be the game-winner … Also scored in the finale at Western Maryland on October 22 … Wrapped up the year with seven total shots ... Made a defensive save in a battle at Bridgewater on September 15.
 
At Lake Taylor - Was an All-Eastern District choice for four years for coach Laura Schleicher … Was also a first-team All-Tidewater selection as a junior and earned the team’s Rookie of the Year Award as a freshman … Helped lead the team to the district and tournament championships in 1998 and 1999 … Also played softball and basketball while running cross country … Was a member of the National Honor Society and an honors graduate while finishing in the top-10 of her class.
 
Personal - April Cullen is the daughter of Thomas and Barbara Cullen … Has two brothers, Matthew and Rusty, and a sister, Valerie … Majoring in fitness and exercise science.
