Amy Tully

Amy Tully has coached the Christopher Newport University Dance Team, the Silver Storm, since May of 2011. Tully has developed the previously student run squad into a collegiately competitive and nationally-ranked Athletic Dance Team for CNU.

The team is currently ranked 5th in the nation for Division III schools with the NCA/NDA Collegiate Championship and 2nd in Division II/III for NDA College Camps.

Tully has helped improve game day atmosphere, student body spirit, community outreach and alumni/booster events on campus and in the surrounding community. She also works with the Marching and Pep Bands to create an energized and professional level game day atmosphere for football and basketball seasons. She works closely with the cheerleading coaches to create exciting halftime and sideline routines and spirit based student events such as Midnight Madness, Welcome Back Picnics and more.

Tully has extensive experience as a performer and was a Dance Captain of the Dukettes while at James Madison University. She later was a Captain/Choreographer with the squad. She was also a Captain of the Virginia Destroyers Cheerleading squad of the United States Football League.

She has also performed as a singer/dancer on Spirit of Norfolk cruises and at Busch Gardens in Williamsburg.

Tully is a native of Fredericksburg and graduated from James Madison University with a degree in Kinesiology.
