Erica Flanigan

Erica Flanigan joined the athletic department at Christopher Newport in 2006, and serves as the Head Cheerleading Coach. Erica is responsible for organizing and overseeing the development, growth, and success of the sideline CNU Cheerleading team and competition team. She has coached the team to four Conference Championship titles and three National Championships. In addition she pushes drive and commitment to maintain a team with a close-knit culture and has an  impressively high retention rate on the team.
 
Flanigan is a 2003 graduate of Christopher Newport with a bachelor’s degree in government. After her graduation she worked as the Assistant Director of Admissions for CNU. While working in admissions, she started All Star Cheerleading Gym, which has become a part of the largest cheerleading program in Virginia and is well known throughout the country. The gym now has locations in Virginia, the United Kingdom, North Carolina, and Pennsylvania and has earned bids to the Cheerleading Worlds and the Summit Championship.
 
Erica currently resides in Yorktown with her husband, Jason, a member of the inaugural CNU football team.
