2006 - Sophomore Year - Appeared in three games, getting a hit against Averett. Also had an at bat versus Shenandoah.

AT STRASBURG - A second team all-state choice as a first baseman in his senior year...Also first team all-region and first team all-Bull Run District...Earned second team all-district honors as a pitcher...He was also an all-area choice by both the Northern Virginia Daily and Winchester Star...His teams won four district titles, a regional crown and was state runner-up once...Hit three grand slam homers as a senior and had a career pitching record of 17-3...Also played football and basketball.

PERSONAL - Matthew Taff Neal was born Jan. 14, 1985 in Strasburg, Va...He is the son of Jay and Tina Neal...Majoring in Communications...Has a brother Parker, 19, who is also playing baseball at CNU...Previously attended Presbyterian College where he played one year of baseball.
