Biography

2009 - Sophomore Season - After sitting out a year with an injury, he bounced back to become one of CNU's key pitchers...Got victories over Gwynedd- Mercy, Rowan, Randolph-Macon, Methodist and York (Pa.)...Threw eight innings of relief against Shenandoah, limiting the Hornets to one run and three hits... Went 6.2 innings against Methodist giving up one run and hurled five shutout innings in the Randolph- Macon game with just two hits allowed.

 

2008 - Sophomore Year - Did not play, injured.

 

2007 - Freshman Year - Became a member of the starting rotation at mid-season and finished with a fine, 3.32 ERA...His wins came against Eastern Mennonite, Shenandoah and Dickinson...In the Dickinson game he threw seven innings of two-hit shutout ball... Also went six innings, allowing just two runs, in a tight loss to Ferrum.

 

AT GREAT BRIDGE - A second team all-Eastern Region choice as well as first team all-Southeastern District for coach Wiley Lee...The team was state champions once while he played and regional and district champs twice...A member of the national Honor Society and Sports Medicine Student of the Year.

 

PERSONAL - Joseph Ian Lenda was born Jan. 5, 1988 in Chesapeake, Va...The Chemistry major is the son of Brian and Cynthia Lenda...He has a brother Ben, 18, who is also playing baseball at CNU.
