Adam Taylor is entering his first season as assistant coach for the Captains, and brings a wealth of coaching experience to the CNU dugout. For the last five years, Taylor served as head coach at Franklin & Marshall College as part of the Centennial Conference.
During his tenure at the helm in Lancaster, he twice guided the Diplomats to the Centennial Conference Tournament and posted over 100 victories. In 2012, he helped lead the program past the 900-win plateau as one of the nation's oldest programs dating back to 1877.
He served as head coach while several career records were set, including individual marks for on-base percentage, runs scored and runs batted in. He also coached J.T. Triantos, the program's all-time hits leader.
Prior to his run at Franklin & Marshall, Taylor worked as an assistant coach with the College of William & Mary. Joining the Tribe's staff in 2005, he worked closely with the catchers and hitters and helped guide a number of individual players to outstanding seasons. The Tribe produced six ABCA All-Region honorees and a pair of All-Americans during Taylor's stint.
Before William & Mary, he was on the University of Richmond staff where he helped lead the Spiders to a 48-13 record in 2003. He was responsible for recruiting five players who were either drafted out of high school or have been drafted since his departure. The origins of his coaching career began at Division III, where he served as an assistant coach at Guilford College for two years and Greensboro College for one.Â
Taylor, a native of Richmond, Va. played all four years at Randolph-Macon College, earning All-State honors as a junior. He earned a bachelor's degree in Economics and Business in 1999.
