2007 - Sophomore Season - The Captains’ third leading tackler with a total of 47...Had eight solo tackles and two assists versus Methodist...Added four solos and six assists in the final game of the season, versus Ferrum...Also had three solo tackles and four assists in the Shenandoah game and a total of six, with two unassisted, against N.C. Wesleyan...One tackle for a loss versus Greensboro and an assist on a tackle for a loss in the Rowan contest... Had three interceptions, with two against Ferrum, and broke up passes in games against Greensboro and Methodist...Included on the all-academic team of the USA South.

2006 - Freshman Season - Saw action in the Greensboro, Maryville and Ferrum games, but did not have any stats...Earned all-USA South academic honors.

AT WOODBRIDGE - A second team all-state choice playing for coach Keith King...Also first team all-region and first team All- Cardinal District...Chosen All-Extra and All-Area by local newspapers... Team MVP...Made 86 tackles as a senior and had five interceptions.

PERSONAL - Jay Thomas Kirland was born April 24, 1988 in Fairfax, Va...He’s a Business and Pre-Med major and the son of Christopher Kirland and Shannon Bryant...He has two brothers, Christopher, 23 and Dillon, 13...Would like to become a sports agent.
