Biography

2017 - Senior Season - Capped off her career with another productive season on the offensive side of the ball … Finished the year ranked second on the team with eight goals … Became the 15th Captain in program history to record a hat-trick after striking three times against Oberlin on September 8 … Also contributed an assist against the Yeowomen and finished with seven total points, which equaled the fifth-highest single-game total in CNU history … Snapped off a pair of goals against Virginia Wesleyan in the season opener on September 1 as well … Continued her early-season surge with the team’s lone goal against nationally-ranked Catholic on September 13 … Drove home another strike against top-flight competition with a first-half equalizer against No. 16 York (Pa.) on October 21, which eventually helped CNU lock up the regular season CAC title … Also found the back of the cage against Frostburg State on October 15 and contributed helpers against Washington & Lee on September 23 and Wesley on October 7 … Wrapped up the year ranked fifth on the team with 19 points … Remained a key member of the penalty corner offense, serving as the inserter on 53 attempts during the year … Eventually appeared in 18 games and earned five starts during her final campaign.

2016 - Junior Season - Helped anchor the midfield unit during her third year with the Captains ... Started all 19 games and contributed 12 points ... Credited with three game-winning goals during the year after helping clinch victories over Oberlin on September 5, Virginia Wesleyan on September 27, and Roanoke on October 9 ... Also found the back of the cage against Randolph-Macon on September 14 and No. 19 Catholic on September 19 ... Chipped in with a pair of assists against Wesley on October 14 ... Served as CNU's primary inserter on penalty corners, filling that role during 156 of the team's 191 attempts ... Helped the squad directly convert 18 of those tries into goals during the year ... Saw 1202 minutes of action and played at least 70 minutes in 11 of her appearances ... Finished the year with 31 shots, including 18 on-goal.

2015 - Sophomore Season - Put together a solid second season for the Captains as a leading member of the team's midfield unit ... Appeared in 13 games and earned 10 starts with the squad ... Started each of the first five games and chipped in with an assist against Wesley on September 12 ... Also cracked the starting lineup in four straight contests from September 26 - October 12 ... That run included a pair of game-winning goals as she drove home the clinchers against Rhodes on September 26 and York (Pa.) on October 10 ... Earned her final start of the year in the CAC semifinals against No. 7 Salisbury on November 4 ... Finished the year with 14 shots, including eight on-goal ... Named to the CAC Academic All-Conference and NFHCA National All-Academic teams for her efforts in the classroom.

2014 - Freshman Season - Stepped up with key contributions throughout her first year with the Captains … Saw action in 14 games and earned nine starts during her freshman campaign … Chipped in with seven points, including three assists … Scored her first career goal at Ferrum on September 26 … Also found the back of the cage and was credited with the game-winner during a 3-0 victory at No. 14 Mary Washington during the CAC semifinals on November 5 … Continued an outstanding playoff run with an assist at No. 1 Salisbury on November 8 during the CAC championship game … Also added helpers during one-goal victories over Wesley on October 11 and at Frostburg State on October 25 … Capped off the season with 20 shots, including 15 on-goal.

At Lee-Davis - Excelled as a midfielder for the Confederates … Earned first-team All-Conference and second-team All-Region accolades as a senior … Also was the runner-up for the Conference 11 Player of the Year Award … Secured first-team All-District and honorable mention All-Region nods as a junior after earning second-team All-District accolades as a sophomore … Helped lead Lee-Davis to a pair of district titles and a third-place showing in the 5A state tournament as a senior.
 
Personal - Madison Leigh Doss is the daughter of Paul and Cathy Doss … Has two brothers, William Cummings and Josh Doss, and three sisters, Kimmy Cummings and Victoria and Olivia Doss … Kimmy competed in soccer for four years at East Carolina and Victoria is on the track & field and cross country teams at George Mason … “Miracle” is her favorite movie, and “The Longest Ride” is her favorite book … A trip to Hawaii would be her dream vacation … David Villa is her favorite sports personality, and Albert Einstein is the person in history she would most like to meet … Her goal in life is to be happy.
